Mod 5 Voice Thread


"With VoiceThread, group conversations are collected and shared in one place from anywhere in the world. All can be possible without installing any software. A VoiceThread is a collaborative, multimedia slide show that performs image, documents, and videos and lets people to explore slides and leave comments using voice (with a mic or telephone), text, audio file, or video (via a webcam). Using VoiceThreads, people can receive comments on other websites and put into MP3 players or DVDs to play as archival movies"

With VoiceThread, teachers can create many activities which can make students-centered class. Like we do for this class, students can leave reaction after any performance. In addition, students can take turn and make a story with pictures or typing texts. Also, students can have pronunciation test by reading words, sentences, or books. Moreover, students can have summary game like first students tells a long story with 20 sentences, second students summarize it with 15 sentences, next students with 10 sentences something like this. There will be other good ideas using Voice Thread ;therefore, VoiceThread is a useful.

A teacher is like an inventor who discovers and develops new methods of effective teaching for their students. A teacher is like a bridge who connects students and new diverse technology. A teacher is like a manual book or guide who helps students to understand technology and use the technology in correct way, keeps them away from wrong information and teach them how to filter the wrong information, and if students have question the teacher should answer to the question when they ask, if not should find answers together.

Mod 4 Free Technology for Teachers


The name of the blog I found is Technology for Teachers and the post is 15 Things Teachers & Students Can Do With Edmodo. I chose the post because I loved three features of the tool and the comments followed the article. The three features were as I commented on the article, I like creating learning groups, connecting with other teachers, and creating digital libraries. And, the comment I loved is
Alicia Kostecki's comment, she says that "My favorite thing about Edmodo is the ability for me to easily share grades and comments with individual students.  In a mostly digital class, with no papers transferring between me and my students, I've struggled with ways to give feedback to students, and Edmodo solves that problem.  Also, just the ability to have students work in one system to get assignments and then turn them in has really eased the burden on them in terms of file management, and eased the burden for me in tracking their files down." I had same difficulties when I teach students in Korea. I needed to grade my students once three month and I really had terrible time, and I felt that grading students is more tired than teaching three or four years old. Edomodo has great features and I would love to apply it to my future classes.

Mod 3 reaction to videos

The video shows the importance of digital world and how much of benefits can be given to students by using technology. It is true that students can acquire knowledge, ask questions and get answers, share information, have feedback, etc. Wherever they go, whenever and whatever they want, and whoever they are with, digital or technology pretty much can satisfy their needs. Therefore, I feel that it is important to notice or teach them the method of using technology in right and safe way; it is one of important role for teachers. For sure, in order to do this, teachers should have enough knowledge about technology as well. Moreover, teachers need to explain to students the needs, importance, and purpose of learning and using technology to motivate students; teachers should make students interested in using technology.

Mod3 Brave New Digital World

"It is misleading to talk about technology as if one were dealing with just a single, homogeneous tool; different technologically based tools render different advantages for L2 learning" I definitely agree with the quote because I can see tremendous ways of using technology while doing this course. Blogs, Wikis, YouTube, Odeo, Animoto, and so on. I believe that even I use every second of my life traveling different technological tools, I won't be able to finish until I finish my life. It is extremely huge and develop in rapid speed. As its scale, it also gives a number of benefits to both teachers and students.

"L2 learners are motivated to learn new structures by being incited by other speakers to use the target language." with various features that technology have, students can learn more effectively and communicatively. Students can reach i+1 in ease with enough input, students can lower their affective filter, and Students can interact with others. These will lead to student-centered class which is one of key factors in language class.

Thnaksgiving, Christmas, New Years' day, Halloween day, Valentine's day, etc. there are a numbers of holidays in America. It would be nice if students use this tool making a post card. Students will have motivation not only using the target language but also having creativity choosing their own pictures and musics. They can also edit or modify their works whenever they want and will have awesome result in a short time. Students will be able to share their works with others and can view different options and choices and this will stimulate their creativity and thought.Visualized material will make students interested in any activities as well. Therefore, this tool can polish and be used in classes in many ways.

My Story...




Students write daily diary with adding their own pictures.
Objective: Students will be able to use regular and illregular past tense.
                Students will be able to have creativity.

Students write a short story based on given grammar and vocabulary.
Objective: Students will be able to pactice the day's grammar.
                Students will be able to make short sentences using the day's grammar.  

Possible activities
Students inroduce themselves, families, or things they want using the tool.
